St. Wilfrid’s Catholic Primary School.

The children educated at St Wilfrid’s today will be adults in 2025! They will be living in a world where the knowledge base doubles in less than a year, where information is not possessed by just a few ‘experts’ and where values and beliefs will be challenged on a regular basis.

In St. Wilfrid’s we believe that the best practices in education seek to harness each child’s sense of wonder and curiosity, to develop in them the skills necessary to enable them to explore and value worlds of religion, literature, mathematics, science, art, music, humanities and sport. It is about journeying with each child on their voyage of self-discovery, for unless they explore, how will they ever know that of which they are capable?

Prayer forms a central part of all that we do in St Wilfrid’s. We work to achieve the best possible outcomes for each child, leading them in the knowledge that God’s love transforms and brings personal change that is not ‘skin deep’ but lasting and life-changing. We want the children in our care to leave school with the knowledge, skills and attitudes that will enable them to become confident, self-aware and just adults who will carry a beacon of hope and optimism for a better world in the future.

When your child starts at St Wilfrid’s they are welcomed into a partnership with staff, governors, parents and the local community and together we journey with your child, meeting challenges and celebrating successes.
